In the context of a dissertation by Dr. Mariana Cannellotto, president of the AAMHEI, on April 20th in Madrid was exposed, among other talks, the scientific evidence of Hyperbaric Oxygenation Therapy (HBOT) in the field of Neurology.

Experts in the use of HBOT were invited to present their clinical cases in the treatment of different neurological pathologies using pressures below 2 atm that are recommended by the literature for neurological conditions. It was proposed the project for the elaboration of the first Hyperbaric Oxygenation Treatment Consensus in Neurology.

The invited experts were under the coordination of Dr. Delfina Romero-Feris, president of the AEMHEI and the topics presented for the application of HBOT were: acute ischemic encephalopathy, neonatal ischemia, brain trauma, post-contusional syndrome, stroke, autism, Fibromyalgia , migraine, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy and Alzheimer’s.

It is planned to continue with this project in a meeting calling experts in the field in Argentina to close the “Consensus Document of Hyperbaric Oxygenation Treatment Recommendations in Neurology” and conduct the relevant scientific dissemination. It is the beginning of a long journey of scientific contributions intersocieties in function of the diffusion of the application of Hyperbaric Medicine in different fields of medicine.
